Best Dance Artist:

David Guetta

He might not be the most talented producer and he may have got into the mainstream by accident but no other dance artist has done more for the dance scene this year then this man. With all the collaborations on his album One Love his mainstream style has put dance back into the charts which hasn't been done in awhile. You gotta hand it to him..

Group of 2009:

Florence & The Machine

These guys are fresh, original and a reminder that real artist are still out there. Florence Welch has a voice that would put any of them X-factor contestants/winners to shame and fuck me she can party and still belt out a tune! The only thing better then this group this year is the remixes done of them. Without a doubt group of the year no one comes close..

Track Of 2009:

La Roux - In For The Kill (Skream's Let's Get Ravey Remix)

If you've never heard this before you won't get it. It was only when I heard Fatboy Slim drop it at Marley Park I realised what a quality track it was.. It was up between this and Florence & the Machine's "Cosmic Love" for my track of the year. This took it....... Dubstep will take over.. Be warned!

Top 5 Of The Noughties:

Tiesto - Adagio For Strings

Arctic Monkeys – I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor

Rihanna – Umbrella

Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars

Summer Minimix

Been awhile.

I started this mix at the end of April just insprired by the great weather outside. Wanted to make a short mix to listen to outside in the sun. Didn't want it too fast or too slow so went for about 100bpm. After finding Diplo's remix California Soul and Royksopp's Eple finding summery tracks for the rest was not easy, hence there being 5-6 versions of the mix! After about 3 or 4 weeks of just looking for tracks to put in I got the final version. Ofcourse I had good oul Walsh helping me by listening to each of the versions and adding his unless opinion. ha..!

This got play on DKITalk on Dundalk Fm (Thanks very much) with good feedback and everyone else that has heard it since hasnt said a bad word about it (their well mannered I presume) .

I also did a video fo it just using a slowed down version of Royksopp's Eple but Youtube pulled a pure knacker act, said it was violating copyright which it purely was, and took it down. But I might upload to another video site soon!

D load it !!!! >> Click Here

Kid Cudi vs Crookers - Day N Night (Kaz Remix)

First of all I want to say I LOVE the Crookers, their production is serious. Pure electro/fidgit at its finest! My favourite tune of theirs is probably Knobbers or their remix of 'We Are All Prostitutes'. The synth sound they use is on both tracks is totally orginal and the beats are just brilliant in my opinion. A smile came to my face when the beat kicked in first time I heard knobbers. Check out Knobbers here.

I first heard Day N Night back in June 2008 in a Klaas set 'Welcome to the Club' I downloaded.  I only realised it was Crookers when I looked up the track list and downloaded it. I think I heard it in Ayia Napa once or twice but can't be sure. It didn't make it into my DJing playlist until it became the second highest viewed video from a guy from Japan, 'Big Electro', on his youtube channel. At the start of one of gigs in the Springs I played it at the beginning of the night just people had started coming in going to the bar and more people were making it to the dance floor opposed to the bar and giving it 90.. Surprised me to be honest. It started getting a lot of hype on youtube and I kept playing it at gigs.. Springs, 21st, college bar and before I knew it, Annie Mac was playing it on her mash up show and it had made the bbc radio 1 playlist, nearly a year after it was produced.. I couldn't imagine their other material getting radio play other then maybe their remix of Busy P's 'To Protect & Entertain'!

For the remix I didnt want to change the already Remix a whole lot. More like make it an edit with a slight bit of production. I got all the samples & synths I needed to reproduce the Crookers sound as best I could. Fiddled around with it rearranging pieces but it sounded best in its original remix set so I left it.
I played for the first time at a gig last night as my opening track, went down as well as I imagined it would!

Have a listen!

Intro to Electro

This is a set I recorded done at the beginning of this year sometime in January. The set isn't completely electro house, it includes some Fatboy Slim, Groove Armada and even the Irish Rovers for good measure. Theres a good bit of figdet in there as well, but enough with genres.
It's a set something smiliar to what I'd play in Silence's smoking area when I do get playing.
Here it is for download:

Eric Prydz - Pjanoo (Kaz Remix)

Right!!

For the past nearly a year I've wanted to put a solo in this song ever since I seen the video on youtube of a Ruben Moran playing the saxophone to this on a beach somewhere. Then about five/six months ago I actually picked up my old electric guitar and learned the riff on the guitar which was piss handy and started freestyle soloing to the track and just wanted to record the solo and place it over the track and use it when playing live which at the time all I did was edit songs for DJing live. But I never got around to it.
Fast forward to tuesday this week, I've been working on a summer minimix the past two weeks which is nearly done, but needed to take my mind of it and with the sunshining in on me I deciced to have crack at the Pjanoo edit. The idea imediately changed from an edit to a remix for the simple reason of practising producing. The concept for the remix was to be a chilled version of the original which turned my solo idea into a simple lead at the end. The lead was wrote on keyboard and then transfer to ableton, going through a few instruments until a harp sound suited the rest of the track. I sampled the drums, piano and background sound the rest was produced by me.

I know its not a brilliant remix or anything but its a start....

Anyway have a listen.. Cheers!

Show Me The Bojangles

Arguebly the best mash-up on the album, certianly the most popular. This mix was siezed up by no other then the wonderful miss Edele "Crump Queen" Branigan. She was over one day looking me to do a mix for dance she was doing in amber, she heard the mix nd well, it mite aswell be the Edele Branigan mix. She also made me use it in a mix that she performed to at the BICS awards (Board of College Societies)  when DKIT hosted it in 2008.
But, yes, she was the inspiration behind the video mash up as you can see..

Mash-up of:
Petey Pablo - Show Me The Money
Pitbull Ft Lil Jon & Ying Yang Twins - Bojangles

Stay Supa Dupa Fly

Right it's been awhile..

Havent updated this because of a mixture of being busy/lazy/hungover but here we go...

This is an old mix done well over a year ago. It's a clever mix, Currently the most viewed on youtube with over 1,000 views. Most dance heads said they prefer it to the other mash ups but seeing its the only electro house mash up i've done.. it makes sense.. My mate bronagh has been going round dundalk telling her mates bout it, good on ya, cheers!

The video is an edited version of Justice's Stress directed by Romain Gavras

Walsh’s 21st Mix

I did this mix one day I was bored, it’s a very rough mix but its still 100% good for a party.

This ended up being the Conor Walsh 21st Mix because Walsh is to cheap to get a DJ for his birthday so he borrowed one of my speakers (which is LOUD) and amp instead. He got a half surprise when I showed up cause I told him I wasn’t able to make it but I got off DJing that night and went down. I say it was a half surprise because I drove and brought Stan with me and he brought about 50 miles in the wrong direction of Walsh’s house on the bumpiest road in Ireland so we had to ring Walsh to find out how to get there.. Good man Stan… ….. At the party we got everyone going mad in a shed when I threw on the mix of my phone

Anyway I thought I’d put it up for download:

Black Mix

This a hard dance/trance mix done back sometime in 2005.
Before the days of the Rockfield parties we had plenty of practice in College Heights. The main party houses were 15, 16, 17. Johnny lived in 15 and the 86 lads as we know today lived in 17. Ah Christ them parties were raw.. I mean like we rarely made it out to Amber and when we did, we never got in for being to drunk so it was Vicars ‘where women go to lose their knickers’ for us, some buzz..

Well there was Yannick, he was some knacker so he was. He was a laugh all the same, some spins in his car mitching college. Back then he was well into his hard dance and I was a bit myself but he loved it. But he didn’t have many tunes of it so made him a CD full of the most hardest, recognizable tunes I had at the time. So when I got the mix to Yannick we played it in his car while, what some people would call joyriding, spinning around Dundalk. There was a lot of illegal activity done that year between Yannick, Johnny, Diarmaid, me and a few other lads, that I can’t say anymore on!
But I believe Yannick has changed his ways since them days and has a girlfriend, doesn’t drink or do drugs anymore.
Anyways, I found the mix on my hard drive here so decided to stick up for download:

Welcome

Hey guys & welcome,

I’ve decided to but up a discography of my mixes, mash-ups, etc in order to try and promote myself. I’m going way back to my very first mix the “Purple Mix” which was a hard house CD that got around to a good few people and I got a good feedback so I kept at it, mixing music! I’ve mixed everything from hard trance to 80s from hip hop to heavy metal, you name the genre I’ve mixed it.
I used to mix CDs full of teeny bopper stuff like Scooter and Cascada until I moved onto to trance, hard trance, hard house. The “Black Mix” is one of my favourite CDs I’ve mixed, still today. I also done a 80min mash up CD over a year ago which I never properly released but got good feedback from friends I gave copies to. Thanks guys
Another thing I did were “mini mixes” for various dance groups and dancers, some where used in local events, some in county events and some used in national, still got to break the international line but that relies on the dancers to do that for me! Thanks for the calls!
I also used to be resident DJ in the Springs Niteclub. Back when I first started nobody went to the place, it was worse then a quiet pub during the week. With the help of a few good mates I eventually gathered a crowd. About 3 to 12 months into my residency was probably the peak. That’s when the music was raw, I could play anything I liked, tracks you wouldn’t hear in other nightclubs in Cavan. The place was mental nearly every Saturday night in them 9 months. Eventually the place started attracting a broader crowd and I was made play more mainstream and older stuff. The music in the place is now no different to any other nightclub in Cavan. I’d like to thank all those people who came to the early gigs in the Springs, thanks a million, yas know who yas are!

Over the next few weeks I hope to fill out this page with all the old mixes and remixes (that I can find), finally release tracks of the “Digital Mash-Ups” Album, eventually having the whole album for download and releasing new tracks. You probably (hopefully) wont get reading this until I have a decent amount of material up, so when you do enjoy!
